On the walk to school…

By lovely mama, November 5, 2009 1:06 am

It’s too hard to resist the big piles of crunchy leaves along the path we take to school.  The Talker couldn’t stop himself from leaping into just about every one we passed, this big goofy grin on his face every time.  I’m savoring these afternoons when we can walk to school, the crisp air a refreshing break to our day.  The memories of thes walks will (hopefully) sustain me through the dreary winter days ahead.

Superheros Save the Day!

By lovely mama, October 20, 2009 1:38 pm

It’s been one of those mornings.  The Professor woke up cranky and in slow motion, so there were far too many “Hurry!  You’re going to be late for school!” proclamations this morning, shouted over the humming of the nebulizer.  (Oh yes, Dash’s scary asthma season has begun – it’s all nebs, all the time around these parts!)  The Conversationalist and The Putter were running to and fro, and it was only a matter of time before one of the knocked over the cereal box that had been left by the Professor in the rush before school.  I heard the crash before I saw it, and I could feel my jaw clench as I thundered into the dining room.  I was ready to explode, when my eyes filled with this scene.

Superheros Clean Up!

Can you tell who that is sweeping up the bits of cereal from my floor?  It’s Batman and Bob the Tomato!  This sight took my breath away in it’s sweetness.  My little men, dressed up like their adored Heros, doing a simple task for their Mama.  My jaw unclenched, and my heart swelled.  It’s going to be a good day…
